What is salon wholesale?
Salon wholesale is the trade supply of professional hair and beauty products, tools and equipment to salons and other professionals, at trade prices and often in larger professional sizes.

Most salon wholesalers only sell to trade customers such as salons, barbers, beauty therapists and mobile professionals. Some also run public retail stores or websites with separate retail pricing.
Do I need an ABN to buy salon products wholesale?
Usually yes. An active ABN is the most common requirement for a trade account. Some suppliers also accept students, or ask for proof of qualification as well. See our trade account guide.
Do I need a hairdressing qualification?
Some suppliers and brands ask for evidence that you work in the industry, especially for professional colour and chemical products. A qualification, salon address, website or business social media page is usually enough.
Are wholesale prices shown with GST?
Trade price lists are often shown excluding GST, with GST added at checkout. If your business is registered for GST you can generally claim GST credits on business purchases. Check with your accountant.
